1.Tell us why anyone would want come to your hometown?
“Don’t borrow trouble!” This piece of advice was whispered to me by a nurse as I was getting prepared to go into surgery to repair an internal issue caused by surgical error. Her comforting words have stayed with me and have taught me that I shouldn’t worry about things that are out of my control. They have helped to calm me when I find myself worrying about what my future has in store with lupus.

2.What are the (2) most important things in your closet and why?
Nearly everything! Difficult flares of lupus have molded me to become a lover of almost everything in my life today. I find excitement by looking out my office window into the spectacular woods of my backyard. Throwing a ball for my adorable Pomeranian Lacey gives me such happiness because it brings her so much joy. Sharing the beautiful love my husband Jim and I have for each other is so incredible. I truly love life!

3.What do you love to cook and why?
Having cheered in the NFL, on and off field for a decade, I would teach the power of cheer. Cheering is more than pom poms and glamour. Imploring that practice and preparation are important for team performance. I would also teach that cheering is one of the most important things we can do for others and ourselves. All of us need to express appreciation and all of us need to hear steady encouragement throughout life.

4.If you had an extra hour each day, what would you do?
Exactly the age I am! Numbers mean very little to me when compared to health and acquired knowledge in my life. I have been granted an abundant amount of time as it is and I continue to trust and have faith that God knows what my journey will be in the years to come. Trust in the Lord with all your heart! Proverbs 3:5

5.Describe the dirtiest job you have ever had to do?
Sitting with my love, Jim, in Arthur Ashe Stadium at the US Open watching Roger Federer ace a set in under thirty minutes… now THAT was a super fun date! We also love Broadway shows, so getting dressed up, arranging transportation, enjoying dinner at one of our favorite restaurants, and then seeing Wicked is always a favorite night out for us too. Regardless, any night with Jim and Lacey are always moments I cherish forever.
